Members elcastigo
My fiance and I are getting hitched in July and plan to have a friend DJ. The friend is travelling a fair distance, btw, so we will need to rent the DJ rig. Our reception is not going to be huge, 50-60 people tops and the dancing will be outdoors (an ample space, but not huge). We DO want people to dance, but don't want the music to be so loud that it is inescapable (it's a wedding reception, not a rave) and/or alienating. Any idea as to what we'll need to rent in terms of gear and how much it would cost? I figure we'll need a dual CD player, two turntables, and an amplifier. As to the number or size of the speakers, I'm clueless as to what's needed. Thanks in advance for any advice. EC

No sense in renting equipment you don't need. The simplest setup you could get would be something like the dual cd player or turntables, a mixer, a pair of powered speakers(built in amp) and a sub. If you're talking about a small crowd, that's probably all you'll need even if it is outdoors.
