I have the soldano 2x12 vertical astroverb..and i've recorded on over 10 albums and can tell you it absolutely gets a tone very reminiscent of the JCM 800 (i've played through a number of JCM 800s over the years and am very familiar with thier sound..- they are such a good amp )..Did i read someone back there say the astroverbs 'dont have enough headroom even for a small club' ?.. I think you should plug one in ..Of course please bear in mind that the astroverb is not a marshall ..different tubes - different brand of speakers and different transformers etc The 800 is classic english awesomeness while the soldano is u.s made and while still a great amp.. has its own take on the english sound but it does get a great tone very reminiscent of the legendary marshall..If you get a chance to play one you'll see for yourself
