On my electrics I like GHS Super Steels 9-42. I play rock music.

And what kind of music do you play?

I guess I mean less muddy and indistinct in the low end. A more immediate attack etc.

Thanks. Yes, I agree that the Pacifica is a very good budget guitar - probably the best - and the HSS pickup configuration is very versatile. But it is those PUs and the amp you play through that counts: the wood that an electric guitar is made from is pretty much just of cosmetic value.
A guitar is mostly wood. So that is the primary tone generator.

Can old caps make for less punch?

EL34s, 6550s, 6L6s or 5881s?

I've read they have less sag than a resistor. Is this true? I don't like sag myself.

My Kramer Baretta has a maple neck with an Indian rosewood fretboard and what I believe is a maple body. You'd think it would be too bright but it isn't.

The best amp I've ever played is my Marshall TSL60 half stack.

Neck, fretboard, body etc.

What is the best amp you have ever played?

Bridge humbuckers such as a Duncan JB, DiMarzio Super Distortion or an EMG-81. They can be perpendicular to the strings or slanted Kramer style.
