For me, it's all about the bridge pickup. Throw whatever you want in the neck and middle positions, but a Tele with a bucker in the bridge...well, what's the point?
Throw the right sc-sized humbucker in there wired for splitting and you have like 90% of the same basic tele tone plus the ability to go noiseless and fatten up the sound.
I seriously doubt many people could actually tell the difference; I definitely can't.

Don't you think a MIM Tele for $499 would be better than a Squier anyways?
I've never played one that was as good as the Squier CV I mentioned. I felt it was on par with a MIA standard tele, cept it had a slimmer neck. IMO. YMMV.

^ I got to jam on a Squire Classic Vibe 50's tele through a Bogner Metropolis for a good while.....it was a surprisingly kick ass guitar. Definitely worth looking in to!

I'd go with a rail bucker/noiseless pickups, especially if you play with any serious volume.

For real, more people need to get in on this. I must see this movie

I loved my v30 loaded Legacy 4x12

That's exactly like the one I played

The Special X guitars are great. I actually A/B'd one with a PRS Custom 22 and preferred the feel of the Mockingbird

Is that one of those new PS/2 tremolo units that I've heard so much about?
Yep, you can plug it in to a PC for extra toanz
Also note that you don't even need strings

Yes, I anchor my pinky - so much that it has actually worn a hole straight thru the finish between my pickups:

If you don't have rhythm, you don't have anything, to be honest.

Because they are super comfy to play

Does anybody know how the JSX Mini and Valveking Royal 8 compare? Similar tube setup, same company...obviously the JSX is a lot better but is the basic tonality similar?
Well the JSX is USA made for one....
I haven't played the Royal 8 before but I had no problems with the attenuator on my Mini - I loved it.

Peavey JSX Mini Colossal is another sweet vintagey 5 watter with built in power scaling and tremolo. I believe they are discontinued and can probably be found for cheap these days...
I had one for a while - sweet little amp that I regret getting rid of but I tend to gravitate to more modern sounding tones. It flat out killed through a 4x12.
Unsung heroes of the Fender amp family?

It sure ain't your 'typical' Fender amp but I LOVE my Prosonic
