Pro Tools M... heard its a better value (whatever that could mean) to get Logic Express...

Garage 3 will do it for me for some time so, will put off any decision on that.. but would rather stay apple if possible.

So that's almost set. Now all I need is a bit of software; will probly start with Garageband 3 and work my way to Logic Express 7. Anything in that range that will beat Logic? Thought bout ProTools M but heardenough against it.

I'm also in the market for a new audio in thing, to start recording again so... I had my eye on the M-Audio Fast Track Pro (which lists for the same price as the Firewire Solo). Apart from the USB connection (and the dual mic ins, etc) are there any significant differences between them? I'm opting for the USB since I'm guessing there will be no Firewire on the upcoming replacement for the iBook. The Fast Track Pro does seem a bit more "featury". It will home recordings & demoes so no super duper hi-fi needed here. I'm thinking going with Logic Express, or maybe ProTools M thing, depends on your recomendations of course.

If there are other interfaces in that range, go ahead and point them out!
