  1. Sadly need to sell my Westone Thunder III guitar, made in Japan by Matsumoku in 1981... It's a top of the line model: neck through, active electronics, ebony fretboard, etc. - here are the full specs (from www.westone.info):

Body - Canadian Ash, Hard Maple and Walnut
Neck - through neck, Hard Maple and Walnut 5 piece laminate
Ebony fingerboard, brass nut. 25.5 inch scale, 24 frets
Steel tailpiece and bridge with brass saddles
Metal backplates (Presumably like those on the Thunder II and III basses - anodised aluminium, not brass)

    2 Magnet-F530 pickups
Controls - Master volume, tone, equalizer volume: coil tap, phase and active EQ switches, 3 way pickup selector
Active EQ is + or - 25 db with a centre zero position, gain is adjustable up to 13db.

Very good conditions, especially considering its age - plays and sounds wonderfully! :thu:

  4. MOST guitar players don't even recognize how important speakers are.

i think the better question is: if peavey insists on making their own speakers, why don't they make them sound good?

    +1 :thu:

... Oh, and my #1 cab is a Peavey 412 MS, but it's from the old series, it's got Celestion G12K85s (AKA G12K100) inside...

  5. Made in the USA late '80s/early '90s, it's basicly a stock "hot rodded" JCM 800 2204, with 6L6 power tubes, fx loop, and 8 "response modification" switches (gain 1, gain 2, comp, low 1, low 2, mid, hi 1, hi 2)...

Very good conditions, looking for 350

  6. I've read mixed (mostly negative) reviews/opinions on these amps 'round the net...

I'm asking because there's a shop blowing these out at about 40-50% the original retail price locally and I wonder if at that price they still aren't worth it - I basicly wonder how much the "for the money" factor affected those opinions...

... After all they're all tube, and they've got 2 channels + boost + 2 master volumes, 2 Celestion Vintage 30s, DSP effects, etc... :blah:
