Still will like to find a good sound library and software I can use apart from external midi gears.

Check previous threads. It depends what types of sounds you want. The only lib I've purchased is Garritan Personal Orchestra, and the sound quality is excellent.
Fruity Loops, my software of choice, has free downloads of tons of samples, or you can pay a nominal fee and get them on CDs. I used to collect free sounds online, but I find it difficult to find good ones, at least without wading through tons of ads, dead links, links to indexes instead of files, etc.
I also simply process the samples I have myself to create new sounds. One of these days I'm going to write a database/librarian for my samples so I can find them easily.
