you can use 6l6, rebias both sides and you'll be fine. Carvin sold them with el34's for a while and switched to 6l6's. I have one and have ran both, el34 on one side and 6l6 on the other with no problem.

There is a manuel online somewhere, I lost the link but someone at the carvin bbs should have it if no one here does.
