  1. This is a sort of follow up to my last thread on this forum, re: I just got my Powerbook G4 back from being repaired.
    It came back with a new 3 times larger hard drive , but when they did a data retrieve from the old malfunctioning hard drive , quite a few of my apps are not there unfortunately.
    I have most of them stored at home ( overseas) on an external harddrive luckily, but my iTunes folders are not there. An old ( probably the original) version of iTunes is now there & can not access my folders.
    I did update iTunes last year but I cant remember which v it was & now the current (latest v) iTunes version does not work on this Mac, so Im downloading V 9 , hopefully that will work.
    On the same note , re : lots of incompatibility with a lot of current software & my Powerbook running OS10. 4 -11, the latest version of Apple OS that will run on my G4PB, apparently;
    I just noticed on an Apple support website that an earlier version of Leopard will work on this computer.
    Is this true?
    I will get myself an up to date Mac, probably a Macbook Pro asap, but that is not possible at the moment & not for some time.
    I think this whole incompatibility issue of older versions of Macs & software updates/ downgrades ( a £2500 investment in a professional tool 6 years ago) is very frustrating & seems very backwards from a technical design point of view, naaive as that may sound.
    I just want my software to continue being compatible with my Mac basically & work well & to be able to use some newer software when I need to.
    Any relevant ideas / advice would be most welcome. Thanks
