  1. It could be a raised fret. I have the same thing somewhere on my fingerboard. One fret is too high, so if you fret another note that's near the problematic fret, the string will buzz on the bad fret.

One way to determine this is to take a straightedge - a ruler or something. Place it so that the straight edge is on the frets, with the ruler going along the length of the fingerboard, perpendicular to the frets. Place it around the buzzing area, and try to rock it - if you do have a high fret, then the ruler should rock like a see-saw because it's pivoting on the high fret.

Maybe try taking it to a tech to see what's wrong. It sounds like you need a fret leveling. I don't know, though, I'm not an expert.

  2. I am currently constructing a guitar out of my own feces I have been collecting for the last couple years (only the really dense black ones). Its going to be called the {censored}ocaster. When I take this stuff out of the freezer and dethaw it Ill use local grasses and form it into a strat shape and let it dry in the sun, then ill laquer it and add a warmoth neck.

    I wouldn't do that, dude.

It's gonna play like a piece of {censored}.

  3. Not yet

The first guitar I picked up with the intention of learning to play was a kid size Spanish guitar that my sister had. Cheese cutter, looked like it went through a {censored}ty neck repair.

The first guitar I actually truly owned myself was a 1935-1940 Harmony Vogue model B that I found at my local dump. Beautiful piece of work - black with a small tobacco burst, 14-fret 000 shape, absolutely stunning. However, it has bridge belly and a bent neck joint, resulting in... yes... cheese cutter. Still great though, and I learned on it. I'm taking it to Hugh Manson's store in February to see what needs doing, and maybe get a price quote on repair.

First electric... a {censored}ty Silvertone Citation starter pack thing. Again, I loved it, but it wasn't the best. After a while the tremolo arm got serious play, and eventually I sold it as parts after a few botched mods. Now, I have a {censored}ty eBay partscaster with no finish. Just a quick job, as I was so desperate for an electric again.

But, it's all about to change. As a christmas present from the parents, I'm getting a fully loaded Strat body that was won off eBay - single-ply '57 spec pickguard, very light Sonic Blue, totally fifties. I'm planning to top it all off with a one-piece maple neck from AxesRUs, with vintage hardware and some other bits and bobs. So that should be my first truly decent guitar :thu:

  4. Well, you asked for it...!

As for pedals, all I'd really need is a Boss multi-effects (just as long as it comes with a {censored}ing manual... have you seen those things? ), a Digitech Whammy, and a Zvex Fuzz Factory. I love the tones you can get with the FF, plus it can do these awesome electronic screams.

As for amp... well, I don't know. I'm hoping to go and check some out and see what's best for me. I wouldn't mind a vintage-style Fender, though... beautiful clean/overdriven tone. I really don't know, it's just gonna be what sounds best to me.

  5. no... wish it was! I spend a lot of my time illustrating.

Holy crap, that is incredible, man! If the chick had a beret, she'd look exactly like a friend of mine

As for me... well, yep, music is my biggest thing! I guess a lot of people on here only do it as a hobby/amateur thing, but I want to go all the way to the top, and be a famous rawkstar :rawk:

When I'm not on HC (and I'm only on here for a couple of hours every day), and I'm not eating a meal or anything, I'm practicing guitar and music in general. It's my life :thu:

  6. I have compiled a list of all forumites who have committed themselves to SAVE ROCK AND ROLL. They have pledged to KICK ASS and ROCK AS HARD AS THEY POSSIBLY CAN!!!!!!!!

...you will be recognized for your true dedication to ROCK AND ROLL and protecting the right of ALL to ROCK IN THEIR OWN WAY.

Holy {censored}, this is made for me. I could not agree more.

Hardly anybody does rock 'n roll anymore! Nowadays, it's all either heavy metal with br00tally low tunings and spiky guitars, or powerchord pop-punk/indie. It sucks. Where has the real music gone?! Of course, those people can rock how they want, but real rock dominates above all.

Sign me the hell up! Save rock 'n roll! :D

  7. You know, I gotta say this again. I just love that... it's just beautiful.

I find black dull, and I've been searching for just the right colour to compliment some black hardware I have. I completely forgot about Charcoal Grey. It just looks so much more badass than black, so I might follow your lead.

    HNGD, it's guitar pornography
