  1. Hi everyone!

I'm looking to trade for the Gibson Les Paul Studio 60's Tribute with the P-90's. I'm really interested in the 60's edition because the 50's neck is probably too big for my small hands. I'd also consider one of the SG models with P-90's or a Gibson Les Paul Special or other higher end Gibson w/ P-90's. I'd also consider an Agile AL series with P-90's but really want a Gibson.

Here are the items I would consider trading (most of this stuff is not for sale):

Fender Highway One Tele Vintage Sunburst with non-original HSC (brand new guitar)

Jet City JCA22H 20w/ Guitar Head

    Danelectro U2 - needs TLC

    Dean Dime Black Bolt

VHT Special 6 6w Guitar Head

Fender Hot Rod Deville 4x10 with a blown speaker that needs to be replaced.

Agile AL-3100 Honeyburst with Burstbucker Pro pickups and full setup with fret dressing

Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier 100w Pre500 (serial # in the 300's) with Hardcase - I will only trade this for a higher end Gibson, not a Studio model. I really have no interest in getting rid of this but if something awesome was to be offered, I'd consider it.

  2. Here is some random junk for sale/trade:

Up top is the bridge humbucker from my Explorer Melody Maker $20 plus shipping

The chain of p/u's to the right of that is the Middle and Neck p/u from my Early 90's MIM Strat and a SD Hot Rails Humbucker - $10 each plus shipping on the single coils and $35 plus shipping on the SD.

    Behringer Vintage Delay - SOLD

Johnson Chromatic Pedal Tuner $15 plus shipping

    Starcaster Chorus Pedal SOLD

Lace TN-100 Telecaster Neck Pickup - SOLD

I'll accept trade offers but I really am not in the market for anything in particular. I could probably use a nice set of chrome tuners (3x3) for my Explorer Melody Maker. This is random but I need a footswitch for a Fender Hot Rod Deville. I can't really think of anything else I need off hand. I would be interested in a Telecaster of some kind. I have a Danelectro U2 in this thread that I coudl possibly combine with some of this stuff for the right guitar.

  3. Yeah I give CL about a week then go the ebay route. In general, eBay is easier because you don't have to deal with flakes and idiots. I can't tell you how many times somebody said they were going to come look at something and I waste my time waiting. I always price stuff to sell too. I don't inflate the price to negotiate. I put it for cheaper than what it goes for on ebay so there is an incentive for a buyer to come pick it up.

  4. I checked around, but they seem to have mixed reviews. Unless someone on the board can offer more input, I'm a little wary of buying them

I went ahead and bought some of these today. I got them for $43 + $25 (living social deal of $25 for $50) so $68 when all is said and done. I figured it was worth taking a shot at that price. I can probably get close to my money back on ebay if they don't work out.

BTW.. anyone who bought that Living Social deal, they take the coupon amount first before applying tax which is sweet. Wish I would have got the $50 for $100 code but I can't complain.

Also, the GC in Cerritos, CA had a M13 for $329 and the guy said the 15% off this weekend applies to it. That would be $305 after tax.

  5. Sounds like the old GM way of doing things..."yeah, we'll lose thousands of dollars on every car we sell, but we'll make it up on volume!".

No wonder they went bankrupt and we forced to bail out their sorry butts.

I highly doubt HP is making another production run if they are in fact losing money. And George Bush signed TARP on his own volition. He wasn't forced to do anything but times would probably still be very bleak if he hadn't. It is amazing to me that people whine and complain about government assistance to individuals and nobody gives two hoots that companies were essentially rewarded for having shotty business practices. "Oh you lost all your money? Well here is some more, give it another shot"!

  6. Huh.

If they are able to have another run of them built to sell at liquidation prices, that tells me that prices were overly inflated on the Touchpads when they were introduced. You don't make another run to blow them out at liquidation prices if you aren't going to make a profit on them.

I don't know what you mean by inflated but I assume HP felt they were worth what they were originally charging. I assume they probably were in the same ballpark as other similar products. So why leave money on the table even if your cost is low? They are in the business of making money, not benevolence.

BTW.. the whole idea of mass producing something is that more you make, the cheaper the product becomes. They were able to move huge volumes of them and generated residual interest in more of the same product so they are obviously willing to get a lower profit margin to move more volume if in fact they are going to produce more at a cheaper price.

  7. Guitar Center is selling them for $90 (In stores only) if your close to one

Awesome! I might use my Living social coupon on those. is $90 a decent deal on those?

EDIT: I'm not seeing them on their site for that price. I'm assuming I really have to go to or call the store to find them at that price? I thought maybe I'd see them on the "in-store clearance" online.

EDIT 2: I called and my local shop has 2 in stock for $90. Anyone have any input on those?

  8. Were people able to get the prices matched from other stores the last time? There's something I want, but the closest Sam Ash is 1.5 hrs away.

I think people were able to get the Charvel's matched @ M123 but I believe they are out of stock. Doesn't hurt to ask. Worst they can say is no.

If anyone is interested I did see one of those Charvel's @ the Sam Ash in Cerritos, CA. Also, GC in Cerritos had some Dean Dime O Flame Guitars for $330. Goes for $600 on Amazon.

  9. Mine ended up $79 & ship from MN store was going to cancel with m123 ($93 ship in Sept.) then I get this...

Message from Chuefeng Xiong at Guitar Center:

Sorry we are unable to process your order for your purchase. We are out of stock from our location at the time being. If any questions or concerns feel free to contact us at the store (651) 634-0100.

M123 pricematched me but I already have it ordered through GC for the same price (M123 charges me tax now) so I'd call them and have them credit your order by the difference.

You might see if you can re-order it from another store. Mine shipped from a store that was further away from me so it seems like their system has knowledge of each store's inventory. Or call M123 and ask them to pricematch the coupon.

  11. Question a Music123 price match.

If I use the 10% coupon at GC, it brings a Jet City JCA2112RC down to $299 in my cart. How can I send the URL of my cart to M123? Actually, I'd rather not since GC charges me tax. I would LOVE to get this amp for under $300 all in.

    Any thoughts?

Call them or try zzounds. Zzounds has a place to put in the coupon code. For some reason when you put add'l comments in the M123 pricematch thing, they never read them or acknowledge them.
