  1. There is NO comparison between Swift and any others you have mentioned above.

Yes, she has written songs, and plays guitar (a Taylor, no less...) - good for her. So does Michelle Branch, who came out firing hot with her song "Everywhere" when she was 18 (a MUCH better song than ANYTHING TS has done)...anyone heard from MB lately ???

Bottom line is, with Madonna, Jagger, Springsteen, Townshend, et, al that you mentioned above, they had SOMETHING DIFFERENT that people realized very quickly. They were revolutionary. They changed music and made their mark...TS is a product of a HUGE marketing push by desperate record company folks who are DYING to get their next pop tart out there. And the fact that she's being pushed as a country artist is such a big joke that even Shania Twain has to be laughing...

    Where is Shania :eekphil:

  2. Who gives a {censored} about who wins a Grammy ffs?

Do you feel validated when your favorite pop star wins? Do you scream "Yes!!!!" at the TV and shake your fist?

Or maybe the Grammies help you discover new, wonderful artists you'd never had the chance to appreciate before, like a geriatric named Eric Clapton, or Bono.

Good god. The day some stupid TV award show has any relevance to what I think is important is the day I shoot myself in the head.

Anger Management - Does a body good :thu:!

  3. Change the World was played on the same pop stations that featured The Backstreet Boys, and N'Sync. If that's not a mainstream artist then I will eat my hat. I like Clapton but he isn't exactly an unheard of indie band. He's pretty mainstream and has written his fair share of pop songs.

No debate, definitely you can go back to Layla - was played on the radio with Carol King and the Carpenters...

  4. out of the list of nominees for "rock album of the year", the only one who actually "rocks" is ac/dc. the grammys are pretty lame as usual although beyoncee, pink, and lady ga-ga are visually "interesting"
    :)
    .

You do realize that the Clapton nomination was for a CD with Winwood as below...and AC/DC lolololol compared to this setlist...holy {censored} I give up.

Not a Green Day fan, but U2 is a band I don't get and I hate Bono and had he won he probably would have said Americans are not doing enough for Haiti then would have blown $1000.00 on a new pair of ladies glasses. I want to be at the U2 show when the battery in the delay pedal dies.

Clapton should be banned from TV until he stops playing 'bluzeman' and gets The Cream back together.

Ginger Baker is 70 and prob. can't lift his arms anymore...

    your reply = Epic Fail!
