Building on the success of the YD Series acoustic drum kits, Yamaha now sweetens the deal with the addition of cymbals, at no extra charge. A 20-in. ride and pair of 14-in. hi-hat cymbals are now included with the five-piece YD0F56CYM and YD2F56CYM. Both kits are currently available, and retain their respective MSRPs of $929 and $949.

"The addition of quality Zildjian cymbals makes the YD drum sets even better values," states Jerry Andreas, marketing manager, Yamaha Drums. "Now a customer in the market for a high-quality, reasonably priced drum set can come into a music store and purchase a complete package."

All YD Series shells are manufactured with the upscale Stage Custom products, and all hardware is manufactured in Yamaha's motorcycle factory, to the same quality control specifications. Features include 9-ply Mahogany shells with the exclusive Air-Seal System (the same method used on Yamaha professional drum shells), Mahogany bass-drum hoops with matching inlay, Remo tom and snare heads with a PowerStroke-type bass drum head on the front and back, springless-design lug casing and professional-quality hardware. Add-on toms, sizes 8-in. to 18-in., are also available.

    The YD2F56CYM includes a 22 x 17-in. bass drum, 12 x 10-in. and 13 x 11-in. power toms, 16 x 16-in. floor tom and 14 x 5 1/2-in. matching wood snare drum. The YD0F56CYM includes a 20 x 17-in. bass drum, 10 x 9-in. and 12 x 10-in. power toms, 14 x 14-in. floor tom and 14 x 5 1/2-in. matching wood snare drum. Wrap colors include Night Black, Garnet Red, Emerald Green, Marine Blue, Sky Blue and Sun Yellow.

"Including free cymbals with the YD Series will make these popular kits even more attractive," adds David Jewell, product manager, Yamaha Drums. "These kits have the versatility to handle any musical style, plus the quality to take a player from beginner through professional levels."
