Turbosound Releases New QLight Loudspeaker

Turbosound, distributed by Sennheiser Electronic Corporation, is now shipping the self-powered, two-way QLight Series TQ-308SP loudspeaker enclosure. The new TQ-308SP is by far the smallest in the QLight Series of portable loudspeaker systems. Thanks to the company's rotatable 100 degrees horizontal by 60 degrees vertical Converging Elliptical Waveguide (CEW) design allowing for both vertical and horizontal loudspeaker installations, the self-powered full range TQ-308SP enclosure is a useful for both audio-visual and fixed installation applications.

QLight TQ-308SP delivers self-powered, two-channel performance from a compact two-way speaker with one eight-inch LF driver and one one-inch high frequency compression driver on a rotatable Converging Elliptical Waveguide device. Providing 300 watts/350 max program low frequency and 50 watts/65 max power output into the compression driver, the TQ-308SP provides 126dB maximum SPL peak handling and 68Hz to 20kHz +/-4dB frequency response.

The TQ-308SP's integrated amplifier module includes active filters and output limiters with status LEDs and gain control, and two discrete limiter circuitry parts (high and low frequencies) allow the performance of one frequency band to entirely ignore the early limiting of the other. Weighing 33 pounds and measuring 18 3/4" h x 10 3/8" w x 11 1/2" d, the TQ-308SP is extremely compact and perfectly targeted for all corporate, theater, audio-visual and general sound reinforcement rental markets.

This latest addition to Turbosound's QLight Series is constructed of birch plywood and finished in black textured paint (TurboBlue textured paint optional) and includes mains on/off, gain trim and one male and one female XLR connector each. The TQ-308SP's amplifier module is entirely self-contained and removable by simply removing four pozidrive bolts and two multi-pin plugs for fast servicing. This enclosure is extremely compact and perfect for sound reinforcement rental uses.
