SoundHack Creator Offers New Plug-Ins

SoundHack is pleased to announce SoundHack Spectral Shapers, a group of four VST and AU plugins based on the SoundHack program, a widely used sound design tool.

Spectral Shapers, the first release in a series of three groups of plugins, will expand on the filters in SoundHack, and explore new spectral techniques as well. Spectral Shapers bring timbral morphing and reshaping into the realtime interactive mainstream.

The four plugins in the Spectral Shapers group are all filters which emphasize the reshaping of the timbre of sound: ,+spectralgate, noise gate/ducker combined with a multi-band processor, +spectralcompand, a spectral version of a compressor/expander, +morphfilter, which morphs between two filter settings that can be drawn or learned, and +binaural, a spatialization plug-in optimized for headphone use. Each plugin works as a group of 513 coordinated filters, performing with both macro- and microsonic focus.

Spectral Shapers can be automated by MIDI controller messages. They are currently running under VST hosts on Mac OS 9, Mac OS X, and Windows; Audio Unit format will soon be available.

The list price for SoundHack Spectral Shapers is $150.00 and it is available directly from SoundHack. The company is also offering introductory pricing through the end of the year.

Future SoundHack plug-ins will focus on time compression/expansion and cross synthesis.
