Soundforest Introduces New Sample Collection

Soundforest, producer and distributor of creative sampling products, has just released S² Sonic Scenes. This is a collection of rich textures, strange commotion, melodic haunts, off-the-wall pulses, sweeping terrain, wacky movements, intended pops and snaps, odd beats, and peculiar beauty. The set contains 200 clips weighing in at over 850 megabytes on two CDs. Samples are in WAV format for Win95 & up. (A Mac compatible version is in the works).

Every sample is looped: either the entire clip or with internal marker information (or both). Overall there are over 160 internal loop marker sets with many samples having 3 separate loops. The start and end times for each marker set are provided in the accompanying data files. The internal loops can be quite distinctive from the sample as a whole -- in essence, bringing the overall number of loops to 360. All samples have been "ACIDized" for quick auditioning in ACID.

Various file sorts of the sample data are provided on disc for quick review & printing. In addition an Access/Excel database for complete sorting/ organization of all sample information is provided. For associative referencing purposes, the sample categories are based upon elements found in film work. A few of the 35 categories are; Anticipation, How do you work this thing, Remembering and Vistas.

The artist/producer looking adventurous clips for ambient, techno, video and soundtrack work, as well as modern dance and other productions will want to check this singular collection out.
