  • Sonic Reality Announces Sonic Synth for MacOS and Windows

    Sonic Reality announced Sonic Synth, a stand-alone software synth that also works as a synth plug in for Pro Tools, Cubase, Logic, Performer and other DAW/sequencing environments. It boasts over 600 Megaytes of sounds from the critically acclaimed Sonic Reality family of sample libraries, including some that were newly recorded and programmed for Sonic Synth. Categories include pianos, organs, strings, pads, voices, guitars, bass, drums, techno, orchestral and ethnic sounds.

    Sonic Synth features a smartly designed interface complete with faders, knobs and easy to read program names. Under the hood, it uses the Unity software sampler engine in a cooperative arrangement with Bitheadz. Its specs include:

     

    • Up to 128 voices of polyphony
    • 24 bit audio quality, compatibility with professional sound I/O cards.
    • 128 midi channels, 128 part multi-timbral, OMS & Free Midi inputs
    • Includes an over 600 Megabyte wave set, over 2,000 sounds
    • Built in effects, MAS, RTAS/DirectConnect, Direct I/O, TDM, ASIO, Sound Manager and VST/Rewire support.
    • The ability to read Unity format sample libraries as well as AKAI and ROLAND format libraries with the use of the optional Bitheadz' Osmosis program
    • Cross-platform, Mac and Windows

     

    Sonic Synth is expected to ship by Summer 2001, will retail for $299 and will be distributed by ILIO Entertainments.
