CreamWare's Pulsar DSP audio card and software will soon be available for Apple Macintosh computers. The long awaited Macintosh version will, except for different drivers, be functionally identical with the PC version from day one. Modules and applications created with the SCOPE environment can be loaded on both platforms, also existing 3rd party modules will be running on both platforms right away.

"It was about time that Macintosh users get to know the flavor of state-of-the-art SCOPE technology. With the release of Pulsar for the Macintosh we make the first step. Since we began communicating the Pulsar, we had huge response from the Macintosh world because the choice of modern audio cards for the Macintosh is rather small. We believe that with our new cross platform version of the Pulsar, we set new measures for price and performance in the Macintosh audio card segment - this should be great news for any audio enthusiast working on the Macintosh." says Frank Hund, President of CreamWare.

The Pulsar audio DSP card features four of the fastest available SHARC DSPs and provides a total of 20 inputs/outputs, including 2 x ADAT, S/PDIF-I/O and stereo analog. The system comes with a large software suite that utilizes the power of the on-board SHARC DSPs and does not tax the host CPU. Modules shipping with the Pulsar include a fully-featured 32-channel digital mixer, a line of synthesizers (including a Modular Synth featuring the famous oscillator module from Waldorf), an AKAI compatible sample player and an array of effects. In addition, over 60 user-created modules are available for download on the internet today.

The crossgrade between PC and Mac versions is free of charge. The Pulsar software and drivers for the Macintosh are scheduled for release in November 1999.
