  • NIFF Support Added to Igor Engraver

    By Guest |

NoteHeads has released version 1.6 of its scorewriter, Igor Engraver. Amongst other things, the new version adds the ability to read NIFF files. It is now possible to import printed sheet music into Igor Engraver for playback, editing and printing, and also import NIFF files generated by other music notation software.

Igor Engraver 1.6 is also dramatically faster - on the average, music input and editing in large scores is about 10 times faster than previous versions.

    Igor Engraver 1.6 also features

    • full, non-GM synthesiser support now also on the Windows platform,
    • dramatically reduced file sizes for e-commerce files, which with v1.6 may be reduced to 15% of their previous size,
    • multi-language support now also on the Windows platform,
    • drawing layers,
    • numerous improvements and bug fixes,
    • and much more.

"The ability to import scanned sheet music via NIFF into Igor Engraver 1.6 is an important step in the development of Igor Engraver. We are committed to providing our users with means of interchanging files with existing programs, and future versions will reflect this even more", says Peter Bengtson, founder of NoteHeads and inventor and designer of Igor Engraver.

Igor Engraver 1.6 costs $295 and can be downloaded and purchased online. The educational price is $195. Upgrading to Igor Engraver 1.6 is free for owners of Igor Engraver 1.4 and 1.5.
