Gem Sound announced the XMA-450 active speaker with multiple inputs. One XLR input accommodates a microphone, while two 1/4" inputs can be set to either microphone or line sensitivity.

Each input has its own volume control, and there are also high and low equalization controls for the main output. An XLR output allows linking multiple units for additional amplification or even recording the mixed output.

The bi-amplified design incorporates a 15" woofer powered by an internal 160 watt amp, and a high compression horn driven by a 90 watt amp. A low-frequency limiter ensures undistorted sound and speaker protection. Power can be switched between 115 and 230 volts. The rugged plastic construction includes heavy-duty handles, and allows several convenient positioning options, including pole, floor, or stacked.

The Gem Sound XMA-450 active and XM-450 passive are now shipping with MSRPs of $479.95 and $399.95 respectively.
