  • New from TerraTec: EWS digitaL

    By Guest |

Windows2000 drivers are now available for all professional EWS64-products designed by TerraTec. These allow the user to use the renowned EWS-Technology also in combination with the new Microsoft operating system. This is even more important as the AudioSystems in the EWS64 range have become some kind of Art Cult object since their introduction to the market. The system's unparalleled flexibility - especially when several audio and MIDI programs are in use simultaneously - offers options that can't be found in any other product. The Win2000 drivers can be downloaded free and rapidly from www.terratec.net.

Simultaneously the Lower Rhine Audio specialist TerraTec has launched a new EWS product: the AudioSystem EWSdigitaL. It is based on the combination of the renowned EWS64 L and the Digital-Modul DigitalXtension ,R' (DXR). The EWSdigitaL can be expanded to 64MB RAM (6MB ex-works) and offers 64 (hardware) voices. The user interface of the sampler provides extremely fast access to all parameters such as envelopes, filters and LFOs. Every MIDI note and velocity level within an instrument can be assigned its own sample. On the other hand, all synthesizer functions can be applied individually to each split. The software imports samples and sounds in WAV, SF2 (Soundfont), 94B (sound cards with Dream chipset) and AKAI (S-1000) formats. A wide range of third-party sound CDs have since been published specifically for the EWS64 which make the most of its impressive sound generation capabilities.

The DXR-Module allows digital (S/PDIF) communication with external peripherals without quality loss, such as DAT-recorders or MiniDisk. The choice of interface - optical or coaxial in both directions - is up to you. This way the digital audio data for supported sampling frequencies (32, 44,1 and 48 KHz), is transmitted directly 1 to 1 - there is no need to convert it later.

    Technical data:

    1. Line 1: 8/16-bit conversion for recording with a 5 KHz - 48 KHz sampling rate
