The freeware drumsampler LoopAZoid is a virtual instrument plugin for use with VST2.0 compatible host applications like e.g. Cubase VST. LoopAZoid features a vast amount of 48 channels, each capable of holding one WAV- or AIFF sample. Each channel can be assigned two MIDI notes; one for forward and one for reverse sample playback. Every channel is fully polyphonic, which means that also overlapping samples fade out naturally. LoopAZoid can play up to 64 stereo voices that way. There are three mute groups, which can be used to emulate a "HiHat-mode": samples in the same group mute each other on sample start. Finally, each sample can be assigned one of the 8 outputs (4 x stereo).

LoopAZoids main strength is the easy handling: samples can be selected easily within a file selection box, root notes are chosen with a piano roll. All samples and settings are stored together with the song and can be exported as standard VST plugin patches (fxp). To exchange or archive drumkits, LoopAZoid can export and import whole patches in ist own format. The current version 1.11 is available both for Windows 9x / 2000 and MacOS.
