  • IVL to Develop Plug-Ins for Mackie's Digital 8-Bus

    By Guest |

IVL Technologies Ltd. is proud to announce a new partnership agreement with Mackie Designs. This agreement will see IVL's popular Vocal Processing and other proprietary algorithms available as software plug-ins for the Mackie Digital 8-Bus Mixer.

"This is an important and exciting partnership," says IVL's Fred Speckeen, VP, music industry division. "Digital 8-Bus owners will have a unique environment where they can create real-time vocal doubling, harmonies, pitch correction and related effects. Running these DSP algorithms on-board the fully automated Digital 8-Bus mixer gives the user the power to quickly create and edit things like vocal harmony swells, panning and special effects. Similarly, correcting out-of-pitch notes after the singer has left the studio is extremely easy, with the user always having the ability to try and save the multiple approaches before deciding on what he or she wants."

Fully functioning trial versions of IVL's software packages will be available to Digital 8-Bus owners, giving them the chance to work with the technology before making a decision to buy. Software purchases and upgrades will be available at the touch of a button via the Internet. "We're confident that these applications will be extremely popular given the incredible success of stand-alone products we have developed for live and recording applications for companies such as Korg and DigiTech," says Speckeen.

"We have the greatest respect for the excellent digital group Greg Mackie has assembled. Their commitment and creativity is infectious, and we immediately found a fit between the cultures of our two companies," adds Speckeen. As IVL's strategic partner in the growing digital mixer market, IVL is working closely with Mackie to bring out a series of useful signal processing tools based on its extensive work in the area of human voice and related processing.
