    Having made their worldwide debut at the 1999 Frankfurt Musikmesse, the first external Interface Boxes for the Spirit Digital 328 mixing console are now available.

    The three interface boxes have been designed as accessories for use on the Spirit Digital 328 and allow additional inputs and/or outputs to be connected to the console via the TDIF ports. Any two boxes can be connected to the 328s two TDIF ports, giving a greatly increased variety of interfacing capabilities.

    AES/EBU Interface

    • Four AES/EBU inputs on XLRs
    • Four AES/EBU outputs on XLRs
    • Consumer/professional format switch
    • Error flag LEDs for each input and output with reset switch
    • Housed in 1U half-width rack-mount box with external 9V AC supply
    • Allows ProTools or multiple AES/EBU users to connect to the 328 in the digital domain

    Analog Interface

    • Eight unbalanced line inputs on RCA phonos
    • Eight unbalanced line outputs on RCA phonos
    • 1U half-width rack-mount box with external PSU
    • Allows analog multitracks or extra inputs to be connected to the 328 console

    Mic/Line Interface

    • Eight mic inputs on XLRs
    • Eight balanced line inputs on 1/4" jacks
    • Eight impedance-balanced line outputs on 1/4" jacks (from TDIF outputs)
    • Eight analogue insert points on 1/4" jacks with in/out switch
    • +48V phantom power and 100Hz high-pass filter switches per channel
    • Four-segment LED bar graph meter (LEDs at -30, -20, -10, -2 dBu) per channel
    • 2U rack-mount case with internal mains PSU
    • With two mic/line interface boxes, the Digital 328 becomes a fully automated 32 mic/line channel console

    All three of the interface boxes are now available from Spirit. The Digital 328, now with upgraded Version 1.1 software, is also currently available worldwide.
