Emagic announces that the ES1 (Emagic Synthesizer One) is now available as a TDM plug-in. The ES1 was Emagic's first proprietary development in the field of virtual instruments. Shipping since December 1999, the ES1 has met with international critical acclaim.

The ES1 provides subtractive synthesis that meets the classic analog ideals. It offers everything that made analog synthesizers so famous: rich sounding oscillators, fat filters, flexible modulation possibilities and extremely fast envelopes. The ES1 integrates seamlessly within Logic's internal digital mixer so that all plug-ins effects can be applied to its output and all parameters can be automated. The direct connection with the sequencing engine of the Logic Audio guarantees unsurpassed precision through sample-accurate timing superior to any external MIDI synthesizer.

The ES1 TDM can be used by Logic Audio Platinum 4.2 owners working with Digidesign's ProTools TDM based systems (Mac only). OMS is not needed in order to use ES1 in a Logic Audio based TDM system, thus AMT (Emagic's Active MIDI Transmission) can be used in all external MIDI communication. The ES1 TDM runs on one DSP of a Digidesign Pro Tools|24 Mix Core/Farm card or a PCI DSP Farm card. With one DSP the ES1 TDM generates eight voices with a single patch, two different patches with four voices each, or eight different monophonic patches. This static voice allocation ensures that even complex voicings do not suffer from voice stealing, thus eliminating negative effects like cut-off release phases that are inherent to dynamic voice distribution.

Emagic's native version of the ES1 is also included with the ES1 TDM package.

The ES1 TDM will ship in March 2000 and carries an MSRP of US$ 299.00.
