    By Guest |

E-mu Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Creative Technology Ltd. (Nasdaq: CREAF), and Newfire, Inc. today announced that they are collaborating to provide game developers with the most advanced digital sound and graphics for nextgeneration entertainment. As part of the alliance, the two companies plan to optimize Newfire's CatalystTM and TorchTM game tools for Creative Labs' AWE64 Gold audio card, E-mu's current SoundFont® technology, as well as for future proquality audio solutions from E-mu Systems. The alliance will enable game developers of all sizes to incorporate professional-quality audio content into new titles and entertainment content, without the need for extensive audio programming.

"Professional-quality audio is just as essential to heart-pounding game experiences as 3D graphics and photorealistic effects," said Randall Thier, president and CEO of Newfire. "Newfire is broadening its support of the world's finest 3D and interactive media technologies by working with E-mu Systems as our premier partner for digital audio technology."

"This alliance clearly shows that Newfire understands the needs and challenges of entertainment content creators,"; said Don Scott, president of E-mu Systems, Inc. "By reaching game developers and consumers with Creative Labs' and E-mu Systems' high-quality audio solutions, we continue to raise the bar for the quality of sound in desktop entertainment."
