Gem Sound has introducd two new turntables to its lineup. The DJ-2100 and BJL-2000 turntables feature a modern, ergonomic design for DJs and vinyl enthusiasts. Virtually identical in all other respects, the DJ-2100 features a direct-drive motor, and the BJL-2000 features a belt-drive motor.
Both models feature an aluminum platter and S-shaped tonearm with anti-skate adjustment for excellent tracking and fidelity. Dual start/stop buttons offer feather-touch response and let DJs reposition the turntable counter-clockwise for "battle mode." A reverse button allows for efficient cueing and interesting special effects. There is also a "motor off" button, which can be used to stop the music in a gradual spin-down.
Both turntables operate at 33 1/3 or 45 RPM, with the BJL-2000 also capable of 78 RPM. Precise beat matching is possible with the built-in 10% pitch control fader. A removable target light facilitates track cueing in low-light environments, and power can be switched between 115 and 230 volts. Cartridge and slipmat are included.
The Gem Sound DJ-2100 direct-drive turntable is now shipping with an MSRP of $299.95. The BJL-2000 belt-drive turntable is now shipping with an MSRP of $199.95.
