  • Audio-Technica Mourns the Loss of Legendary Producer/Engineer/Visionary Phil Ramone

    STOW, OH, April 1, 2013 — Audio-Technica mourns the passing of legendary producer, engineer and composer Phil Ramone on March 30, 2013. A longtime friend of the company, Ramone, a fourteen-time GRAMMY® winner and Recording Academy® Technical GRAMMY Award recipient, has been involved with A-T since 1991, when he offered invaluable advice on studio microphone design.

    Kazuo Matsushita, President of Audio-Technica Corporation, said, “Phil Ramone was an icon in the music industry, and we are saddened by his loss. He was a close friend, and everyone at Audio-Technica will miss him dearly.”

     

    Phil Cajka, Audio-Technica U.S. President and CEO, stated, “A true visionary with an unrelenting passion for the art of music and the industry he loved, Phil Ramone was a gentleman and gifted mentor who had the unique ability of making those he worked with feel comfortable and at ease, and they always walked away learning something. He was a member of the Audio-Technica family, and his contributions to A-T, both personally and professionally, will never be forgotten. There is a deafening silence today in the music industry, as we have lost one of our key voices. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends.”
