Applied Research and Technology, Inc., the Rochester, New York-based manufacturer of analog and digital signal processing equipment, is now shipping the Quadra/Fx effects processor.

The Quadra/Fx utilizes a specialized DSP processor combined with A R T's own Dynamic Engine Allocation software, which allows for control over 30 effects algorithms. and features 20 Bit A/D-D/A audio resolution, and 24 Bit double precision effects processing, which allows the Quadra/Fx to process incredibly accurate and realistic algorithms.

Featuring four inputs and four outputs (two independent stereo audio channels), the Quadra/Fx may operate in Twin Stereo (two independent stereo processors), Discrete 4 (four independent processing channels), Cascade, or Stereo DSP configurations. Combined, these engines provide nearly unlimited preset combinations. Effects and multi-effects can be arranged in any order with the Quadra/Fx's full programmability, and can be stored to any of the 100 presets.

The Quadra/Fx's effects include Reverb (Chamber, Room, Hall, Plate, Gated and Reverse), Delay, Pitch Shifting, Chorus, Flanging, Phaser, Tremolo, Panner, and a Rotary Simulator. Adjustable parameters include Mix, Lo Eq, Hi Eq, Delay, Regeneration. Size, Decay, Shape, Pitch, Speed, Width, and more. The Quadra/Fx also features a six step LED Signal VU Meter, and is Midi controllable.

Suggested applications for the Quadra/Fx include multi track home studio recording, digital audio workstations and computer recording, FOH sound systems, midi recording and sampling, monitor mixing, and musical instrument applications.
