Zildjian is re-introducing of the "classic" A. Zildjian Deep Ride. Available in 20" and 22" sizes; the A. Zildjian Deep Ride offers the deepest, low-end sound of all A. Zildjian Ride cymbals.

The A. Zildjian Deep Rides feature a special cup, weight and flat taper that combine to produce a warm and deep, low-end Ride sound. Though low-pitched, the "Ping" qualities are clean and clear with more than enough cutting power for even Rock music. The cup size vs. the playing area ratio of the 20" and 22" size produces a balanced articulation and tight stick definition with a clear bell sound.

This unique sounding cymbal was a "classic" A. Zildjian model in the late seventies. The Deep Ride was a favorite of a great many of the top Fusion and Jazz-Rock drummers of the time, such as Peter Erskine who used a 22" model on all the recordings of the now legendary fusion group, Weather Report.

"Today we see instrumental bands such as "Medeski, Martin & Wood" and "Soulive" attracting very large audiences, which is great", said Gregg Stein, Zildjian's Marketing Communications Manager.

"Whether you care for the term 'Jam Band' or not, there is no question that there is a renewed popularity and growing appreciation for improvised groove-based music. These bands are heavily influenced by the music from the Seventies and covet the "classic" instruments from that era. Consequently we felt it was the perfect time to let the legendary sound of the Deep Ride live once more."

    Suggested list prices: 20" - $320, 22" - $382
