    By Guest |

The Institute of Production and Recording (IPR) in Minneapolis will host "Content Under Pressure," a one-time exclusive event in which 14 up-and-coming national and local independent hip-hop emcees and producers will be paired up to lay down their beats and rhymes at the school on Thursday, June 25. Hosted by Brandon Allday of Big Quarters, seven producers and seven emcees from the Twin Cities and Rymesayers Entertainment will be randomly paired together at the last minute. They will have three hours to create a track that shows off their skills, and then perform it in front of a live audience. Each group will have full access to the various recording studios at IPR. The emcees include Abstract Rude, Manifest, St. Paul Slim, Carnage, New MC, Sims of Doomtree and Felipe Cuauhtli of Los Nativos. Producers include Blueprint, Medium Zach of Big Quarters, O-D, Katrah-Quey, Benzilla, X:144 and Big Cats. "Content Under Pressure" is a free all-ages event beginning at 6 p.m. for participants and at 9 p.m. for the public to watch each group perform their creation. For those that are not able to attend the event, they can visit http://www.livestream.com/contentunderpressure for a live online broadcast.
