  • KEYFAX Digital Video Productions Releases "Using Cubase 4 Recording The Band "DVD

    By Guest |

Announcing Using Cubase 4 Recording The Band from KEYFAX Digital Video Productions, the newly formed video division of seasoned Yamaha and Steinberg support company KEYFAX NewMedia Inc.

Shot live in Santa Cruz and featuring rock band "the Liminal," this DVD lifts the lid on what it takes to record a band in the 21st century armed with Cubase as your recording medium.

Using both live action and on-screen tutorials, Using Cubase 4 Recording The Band is firmly focused on aspects of Cubase you need to know when you're recording multiple musicians and instruments.

The DVD shows how to hook up a hardware interface, how to deal with mic-ed amps and drums, monitoring, recording procedures and techniques, and how to prepare the best mix for mastering. Everything in the program is geared towards the practicality of a multi-musician, band type of recording experience.

Centered around Cubase 4, the DVD also looks at differences in features and techniques for those using Cubase Studio 4.

Running at 1 hr. 30 minutes, Using Cubase 4 Recording The Band is aimed at the beginning to intermediate level user — or the experienced user new to band recording — and doesn't get sidetracked on features of Cubase 4 that you simply won't be using in this context. Similarly, even those familiar with Cubase in general will be able to pick up tips and techniques on this particular application of the program.

Using Cubase 4 Recording The Band includes the raw audio files on the DVD (Cubase 4 Project file, plus the final mix) and is available from all good music stores or direct from the Steinberg web site for $44.95.
