  • New MIDI Search Engine Searches by Melody Input

    By Guest |

The Melody Catcher http://www.melodycatcher.com/ is a new melody finder to search MIDIs by melody input. In general, at most, some 10 of the first notes of a remembered melody have to be played on the systems virtual piano keyboard, to find those melodies for which the systems crawler has found a MIDI file with a suitable contour on the Internet. Before searching, each input can be played, and when needed, corrected in different ways. The user can play the MIDIs matching with their query and find their title, while they are also linked back to the source sites of those MIDIs. Although song titles can also be searched using text, the Melody Catcher is especially useful to make accessible the on-line MIDI world by melody input. In many cases, the system can also be of help to find and compare more or less similar MIDIs. For further information, see also: http://www.allbutforgottenoldies.net/interviews/jan-l-van-os/
