Midi Quest 9.0 and Midi Quest XL are the latest universal editor librarians for the Windows platform from Sound Quest. Supporting over 60 manufacturers and 600 instruments, both Midi Quests feature an advanced graphical editor architecture. This stylish new interface provides full on-screen control of every sonic resource locked deep inside your studio's instruments.

Completely Customizable Editors

Traditional universal editor librarians often looked very generic - with the same knobs, faders, buttons and controls laid out in endless scrolling windows, the editors in these programs were not very appealing or intuitive. Midi Quest 9 and XL's graphical editor controls and environment can be completely 'skinned' with your own graphics. Also, the layout of every control can be easily changed to suit whatever panel designs you're after. Would you rather have knobs than faders for certain parameters? No problem. Would you prefer a different grouping of the panel controls? Do it with ease - You decide how you want your instrument editors to look.

Midi Quest 9 & XL Shared Features

Besides quick and intuitive preset editing, Midi Quest 9 and XL also feature windows for editing user banks, system settings, and for creating keyword-searchable libraries. Multiple types of data such as presets, patches, combis, performances, globals and setups can be collectively uploaded to Midi Quest as a structured Set or as a date-indexed Collection for full editing, hard-drive storage and even sharing with other Midi Quest users.

Midi Quest XL : Hardware Virtualizer

Midi Quest XL goes beyond Midi Quest 9's editor/librarian features, providing virtual panels to control all of your studio's hardware instruments from within VST and OPT host Digital Audio Workstation software such as Cubase SX and Sonar. Midi Quest XL opens as a plug-in within these hosts to provide visual parameter editing without any of the hassles of switching between programs. Sequencer events can command the download of presets to the hardware in real-time. All references to hardware presets, banks and system data made within the host are also saved with the project for a completely integrated approach to sound management. Automation of parameter changes are fully supported within VST and OPT environments, and Midi Quest XL automatically updates the patch name definitions within the host DAW whenever any hardware instrument's onboard memory is altered (Sonar INS, Cubase Script and MMA XML name definitions are all supported by this feature).

Midi Quest XL also features complete authoring tools that allow technically advanced users to create their own custom instrument modules and explore the depths of their hardware's system exclusive implementation. Finally, an applet called QuickSend is included with Midi Quest XL that can be run from Windows Explorer to download Midi Quest files to hardware instruments without requiring Midi Quest.

Midi Quest XL retails at $299 USD, while Midi Quest 9.0 retails at $199 USD. Single-instrument versions of Midi Quest 9.0 (UniQuest) retail at $99 USD.
