DigiZine Online Magazine Goes Live

Digidesign is pleased to announce DigiZine, a new monthly educational online magazine aimed at both beginner and professional Pro Tools users alike. Launched in April, DigiZine can be found on Digidesign's website at www.digidesign.com/digizine.

"DigiZine is a place where readers can learn not only who is using Pro Tools, but how they are using it," states Dusty DiMercurio, DigiZine's editor. "Pro Tools is a deep program, and having several different perspectives from professionals really shows the diversity of the system and how users in differing industries are taking advantage of its capabilities in their own unique ways to produce audio."

Each month, DigiZine will feature a cover story on a high-profile Pro Tools user as well as three Pro Techniques interviews in which professionals share some of their favorite Pro Tools tips and techniques. April's cover story features Ozomatli, the Grammy-award winners for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album.

In addition to a monthly feature story and the Pro Techniques interviews, DigiZine will feature the following:

Monthly Columns:

• Hard Disk Life written by Charles Dye, Grammy-winning engineer/mixer/producer, who shares his how-to techniques for mixing with Pro Tools. Charles Dye has mixed hits for Ricky Martin, Sammy Hagar, Julio Iglesias, and Jon Bon Jovi, as well as recorded artists such as Aerosmith, Hanson, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira and Gloria Estefan.

• LE Boot Camp by Joe Gore features basic training for those new to Pro Tools. Gore has recorded and performed with Tom Waits, PJ Harvey, the Eels, Meat Beat Manifesto and others. He has contributed to many television and film scores, and has created music for such clients as Intel and Disney. Gore has written extensively about music and music technology and is a two-time American Music Journalism Award winner.

• In June, Greg Geddes, co-owner and chief engineer of Hollywood's Novastar Post, will begin sharing his expertise on how to use Pro Tools for post production.

Tech Talk

A section dedicated to elaborating on the technical aspects of digital recording.
