TRUE Systems, located in Tucson, Arizona, has announced the release of the P2 Digital, a superbly engineered two-channel 24-bit/96kHz microphone preamplifier. Modeled after the TRUE Systems Precision 8 eight-channel analog preamp, the P2 Digital has been designed to be one of the most flexible, best sounding analog-digital preamps in the marketplace. This foray into the combining of analog and digital designs for high-end product development is not new to TRUE Systems' principal designer and CEO, Tim Spencer. Spencer has previously worked as a senior design engineer for Hughes Aircraft and Burr Brown, and has recently been instrumental in providing Timeline Vista (designers and manufacturers of the Tascam MX2424) with design assistance and sonic evaluation of their Tascam MX2424 AD/DA I/O option module. Armed with a depth of engineering expertise, and the success of highly acclaimed Precision 8 analog design, TRUE Systems turned their attention to the digital realm.

The P2 Digital preamp offers ultimate sonic performance for critical recording and sound reinforcement. Features include an M/S decoder, direct inputs, dual gain range, high-pass filters, a stereo phase correlation display for optimizing stereo microphone placement, 24, 20 or 16-bit digital outputs with sample rates to 96K, AES/EBU and ADAT optical outputs, and multi-channel digital output routing.

"Given the immense popularity of desktop recording formats, whether in a pro, project studio or remote recording location, the P2 Digital preamp is destined to serve this market with its clean, clear reproduction, superior digital conversion, and flexible output routing. Realistically priced at MSRP $1995.00, the P2 Digital provides a new path to re-create incredible sounding recordings" commented Karl Winkler, brand manager for Neumann microphones, the U.S. Distributor for True Systems.
