SM Pro Audio Announcing PR8-E Multi-channel Microphone Preamplifier At Winter NAMM
By Guest |
In addition to the full range of SM Pro Audio products (Analog, Red Valve, Value, & Microphone Series), the new PR8-E multi-channel microphone preamplifier is to be released at the NAMM 2006 International Trade Show, held in Anaheim, California, USA. Visitors are welcome 19-22 January 2006 at the SM Pro Audio booth #6809.
The new PR8-E multi-channel mic/line preamp is the vanguard of the 'next-generation' in the SM Pro Audio range. Using all the latest components, a completely new circuit layout has been designed from the ground up. By exercising extremely careful placement of components onto a single board, the end result boasts eight exceptionally high-quality, low noise pre-amps with impressively high gain structures.
Tailored to suit a wide variety of applications, the PR8E is perfectly suited for use as a front-end device for many hard disk recording systems, as well as adding additional mic pre's to digital mixers and sound cards. Each pre-amp features its own XLR/TRS jack 'Combo' input connector, 48v phantom power, Phase Reversal switch and peak LED. A -20db pad is built in to the 1/4" (6.5mm) TRS line-in jack sockets and the outputs are eight balanced 1/4" (6.5mm) TRS output sockets. All this is housed inside a hardened steel chassis, complete with 19" EIA rack mounting ears.
Each mic-pre produces some 60dB of gain with a massive 23db of maximum output! Ultimately however, what counts is the sound quality. To this end, the PR8-E is guaranteed to deliver and will easily outperform just about any other preamp in its class.
Typical applications include:
- Expansion for multi-channel DAW's.
- Improved mic performance for many existing mixing consoles.
- Direct Injection for line-level devices, such as keyboards, drum machines and effects processors
Features:
- 8 discrete microphone preamplifiers
- Ultra-Wide Dynamic Range
- Low-Noise Operating Levels
- XLR/combo Inputs, TRS Outputs
- 48V Phantom Power on Every Channel
- Phase Reverse on all Channels
