  • ResoPre-273 2-Channel Microphone Preamp

    By Guest |

Audio Exchange International, Inc. (AXI) introduced Reso Audiotronics' ResoPre-273 at Winter NAMM 2006. The ResoPre-273 is also shipping for market distribution and is available through AXI.

The new 2-channel, remote-controlled ResoPre-273 microphone pre-amp is built using a vintage 1073 analog circuit design, and is intended for use with all major DAW systems, or in a live sound environment. Controllable directly from the front panel, remotely from ProTools or a midi source such as a control surface or software plug-in, the ResoPre-273 is built upon the classic analog style with flexibility in mind.

"Reso Audiotronics introduced the ResoPre-273 to meet the needs of project studio owners and commercial studios that don't have the need or budget for the 8 channel ResoPre-873, but still want the high-quality performance and remote controlled flexibility that it offers," says Chris Walsh, director of marketing for AXI. "The ResoPre-273 combines a classic, British analog mic pre circuit with a remote control. This is a winning combination in all applications, especially for the Pro Tools user."

Unlike other mic pres, the 273 can be set up close to the source eliminating the need to run long mic level lines. Each channel of the 273 has a 10db Pad, phantom power, phase and mute controls, and status is displayed for each function. Similar to the original 1073, there are 13 gain steps utilized throughout the 20-80dB range, however with the 273, all of the controls are MIDI accessible.

Reso Audiotronics, LLC is a manufacturing company specializing in newly manufactured products that capture the sound of classic analog, discreet, Class-A designs, while adding a twist of modern capability for each unit. The technology is based on the timeless, analog, discreet, Class-A mic pre-amp circuit and transformers that defined the classic sound of the 70s and 80s.
