Red5 Audio Brings Microphones to US Market

Scottish company Red5 Audio has launched a new Florida-based company in the USA. The US company will initially carry a reduced product range but will give US and Canada customers access to Red5 products, previously unavailable in the US. Red5's large diaphragm condenser mics and drum mics have already been available in the UK and Europe.

In a slight change to their existing strategy, Red5 will also distribute directly to US dealers. A director for Red5 Audio in Scotland comments, "Our own on-line shop will continue but many people still want to walk into their local music shop and buy. It's important we recognise and support that".

Products launching in the US include:

• RV8 Large Diaphragm Condenser mic (cardioid) with bass roll-off and -10dB pad switches. Price: $225.
• RV10 Large Diaphragm Condenser mic (cardioid, omni and fig-of-8) with bass roll-off and -10dB pad switches. Price: $305
• RVD1 Kick Drum mic. Price: $155
• RVK7 7 piece drum mic set featuring 4 RVD9 snare / tom mics, 1 RVD1 kick drum mic, 2 RV4 small diaphragm condenser mics. Price: $360
• RVD30 Dynamic Mic (Hyper-cardioid). Price: $80
