The Nady Audio line now includes two new studio mics, the TCM 1050 and TCM 1100 Vacuum Tube Condenser microphones. Both units offer the classic vintage look and sound and performance of the legendary vacuum tube mics at a fraction of their original cost.

The TCM 1050 has the warmth, presence and clarity of the original models and features a gold-sputtered, ultra-thin 1" diameter mylar dual diaphragm; tube preamplifier circuitry with 6072 vacuum tube (a classic 12AT7 specially selected for low distortion, superior signal-to-noise ratio and minimum sensitivity to mechanical vibrations); and a special output transformer designed for ultra transparency. The classic rugged construction of the TCM 1050 uses almost all brass parts. Power is provided by a dedicated AC power supply, offering remotely switchable pickup patterns for ultimate ease of operation and versatility. Nine different polar patterns are selectable: omnidirectional, cardioid, figure 8, and six intermediate stages.

The TCM 1050 is suitable for numerous applications, including vocal and all forms of instrument pickup. It comes with its own professional aluminum flight case, TMPS-2 power supply (with switchable 115/230V operation and balanced output for connection to any mixing console with no phantom powering required), 30 / 7-pin XLR cable, elastic spider shockmount, and foam windscreen.

The TCM 1100 is a cardioid microphone which features a hand-tooled brass capsule with a 3-micron gold-sputtered mylar diaphragm (1.1 inch) for maximum sensitivity, long life, subtle sonic detail, and excellent tone. A unique, specially designed gold-plated center element creates a gentle extension of the top octaves and an enhanced transient response. Like the TCM 1050, the TCM 1100 also uses a 6072 vacuum tube and special output transformer which allows the natural warm reproduction of sound that is the defining feature of the best classic tube microphones. The TCM 1l00 also features classic rugged construction (almost all brass parts), and comes supplied with a 16/ 7-pin XLR cable and TMPS-1 power supply (with switchable 115/230V operation, and balanced output. The system comes with a rugged portable plastic carrying case.

"For the first time, the technology of the classic microphones that have for decades been a pop/rock icon in top recording studios worldwide (and sought after collectors items by the most discriminating recording engineers) is affordable even to the most modest project studios," commented John Nady, President of Nady Systems. "The TCM 1050 and 1100 have a great vintage look and sound and theyre incredible studio workhorses. Our breakthrough low price is just icing on the cake."
