  • JZ Microphones Introduces Innovative Microphone Pop Filter

    By Guest |

Following the successful release of three highly acclaimed Black Hole studio microphones, JZ Microphones is introducing an innovative new pop filter design at the 125th AES Convention in San Francisco, October 3 - 5.

The new JZ Microphones pop filter offers a distinctive "curved cone" shape and employs two screens — one in front, one in back. The main benefit of this unique design is reduced reverberations and, therefore, improved fidelity to the original sound. This new accessory comes with the new Black Hole microphone shock mount, an advanced system devised for use in more complicated applications than included stand holder is able to carry. Both the pop filter and shock mount are patent pending, and will be available at a suggested retail price of USD 490.00 (EUR 339.00).

"A pop filter is an essential piece of equipment for anyone critically recording speech or vocals. We knew we could improve upon traditional designs. So we put significant research into developing a very high-quality product, with a demonstrable improvement on recorded sound," says Juris Zarins, JZ microphone's lead designer. "We have been working on this pop filter for several years. After careful research of other products on the market, we developed our proprietary design, with two layered screens in a curved cone shape. The results versus traditional designs are stunning."

JZ Microphones was established in Latvia in 2007. The company develops innovative modern recording equipment and world-renowned studio microphones. JZ Microphones are employed by some of the world's foremost music artists, producers and engineers. These microphones ensure rich, supremely natural sound, from personal studios to major commercial recording and broadcast facilities.
