  • Point Blank Launched a Four Week Course Entitled Mixing Dance Music

    By Guest |

Award Winning music school Point Blank has launched a new four week course entitled Mixing Dance Music (http://www.pointblankonline.net/mixing_dance_music.php ). The course equips Logic users with the skills and techniques to mix electronic and dance music to professional standards. The course is the latest in Point Blank's Pro Producer series and will be enrolling monthly from November 23rd, priced at ¿¿295 ($489 US). The Pro Producer courses take a unique approach to online learning. Each week students have the opportunity to upload their music and receive personal feedback from a professional producer (hence the name!). Each student is provided with a Quicktime movie which shows their tutor deconstructing their track in Logic and offering professional analysis and advice on how to improve. This kind of individual coaching has helped students from all over the world to raise the standard of their productions to release quality. Nik Frattaroli said "This has been the biggest learning experience of my life to date. Massive thanks to my tutor for all the time and effort spent running through messy projects of mine. Watching all the feedback videos has been fascinating. It's nice to have a tutor who gives that kind of one to one time." Nik's current release "Roma / Red October" is available now on Berwick Street Records and features a remix courtesy of Global Underground star Anil Chawla. In addition to this one-to-one feedback, tutors also host a weekly webchat where students can discuss course topics and raise technical questions. They also have access to a wealth of online course materials which are available for a full year. These include tutorial videos, Logic project files, samples, audio examples and in depth course notes. The course has been developed by producer and remixer Danny J Lewis who has releases on labels including Defected, Masters At Work, Ministry of Sound and XL Recordings. It also features contributions from other Point Blank tutors including electro breaks producer Rogue Element (aka Ben Medcalf) and Grammy nominee Mike Koglin (Noys Music). Thanks to this expert input, the course is suitable for producers of various styles from Minimal and Tech House to Trance. Class sizes are strictly limited and enrolment is now underway.
