Redwood Music Corporation announces the addition of a new, true 4 buss, live sound desktop mixer to its STK product lineup for 2001. The new mixer, dubbed the VX2043FX has many big board features packed into its compact size of 29 x 15 x 3.5 .

For starters, the VX2043FX has 20 inputs in 16 mic/line channels and 2 stereo channels. Each channel features a 4 band EQ (stereo channels have a 3 band EQ) plus 4 aux sends, a 75 Hz high pass filter, and channel attenuator. Mic channels feature inserts, as well. The master section has an on-board, stereo 7-band graphic EQ that can be bypassed when necessary and there is a built-in digital effects processor with 16 presets. There are master aux send controls as well as controls to send both post aux signals to the monitors. There are 2 stereo aux returns and a solo section for setting levels and monitoring performance.

The output section includes inserts before the balanced XLR as well as unbalanced outputs. There are, of course, separate outs for each sub group and there is separate summed mono XLR output that can be used as a sub bass send by simply enabling the built-in 75 Hz low pass filter. STK R&D manager, B. I. Choi, comments, More and more live sound users want to use subwoofers, but either lack the funds or the expertise to rig a fully bi or tri-amped system. The VX2043FX makes using subs easy by integrating the crossover right into the board. The usual tape in/outs are also present as is a second set of unbalanced outputs with a separate, post-main-fader trim level control for sending signal to a control or green room.

The STK VX2043FX retails in the US for $999.95 and by the time you read this, will be available at STK dealers. Redwood Music Corporation manufactures music and pro audio accessories sold under the Redwood brand name and is the exclusive US distributor of STK professional audio products, including economical powered and unpowered mixers, signal processing and power amplifiers.
