Behringer has introduced the DDX3216 digital mixing console (EURO/USD 1,999.00 MSRP exc. VAT). The DDX3216 represents a fully automated 32-channel, 16-bus digital console with 8 aux sends and flexible routing options.

According to company founder Uli Behringer, "This product is a milestone in our company history. We have invested five years of extensive research and development in collaboration with several top-ranking experts. We take much pride in the extensive know-how that went into this digital console and will lay the groundwork for a wide range of spin-off products."

The Behringer DDX3216 provides an analog feel in a compact and rack-mountable unit. Owing to its simple user-interface that resembles that of an analog console, the DDX3216 allows quick and easy editing of virtually every parameter. High-power floating point DSP technology ensures practically unlimited internal dynamic range, while high-resolution 24-bit AKM A/D and CRYSTAL D/A converters provide optimum audio quality bound to please even the most discerning user. Four groundbreaking effects processors, accessible from all 32 channels, provide first-class algorithms, such as chorus, delay flanger, LFO filter, phaser, pitch shifter, reverb, tremolo, and many more. The 4-band fully parametric EQ, compressor, gate, low-cut filter, and phase inverter on all of the DDX3216's 32 channels -- with additional delay function on the first 16 channels -- provide effective dynamic processing. A set of 12 high-end ultra low-noise INVISIBLE MIC PREAMPS deliver crystal-clear audio with incredible reproduction of the slightest sound nuances and ample headroom. Freely configurable built-in level meters on all channels and channel controls with LED rings facilitate editing of any of nine selectable parameters per channel. Routing of complex signal configurations is accomplished by an internal input/output patchbay. What's more, the DDX3216 features full static and dynamic automation and a set of 17 precise, low-noise 100mm motorized faders from ALPS.

With its two extension slots for installation of optionally available digital interfaces based on ADAT, TDIF and AES/EBU formats, the Behringer DDX3216 offers virtually unlimited connectivity. Extensive MIDI implementation capability enables program and control changes, MIDI sysex and MMC. Four freely assignable analog outputs on balanced 1/4" TRS and MIDI plus RS232 connectors round out the I/O options by allowing interfacing with a wide variety of external devices. The open architecture of the DDX3216 allows the user to update the OS from a personal computer or PC card, and the freely downloadable Windows editor software makes data transmission and management a snap.

Currently, three digital interfaces are optionally available for the DDX3216: the ADT1616 16-channel ADAT interface (EURO/USD 319.00 MSRP exc. VAT), the TDF1616 16-channel TDIF interface (EURO/USD 319.00 MSRP exc. VAT) and the AES808 8-channel AES/EBU interface with 19" connector box (EURO/USD 349.00 MSRP exc. VAT).

The DDX3216 ships complete with a rack-mounting kit. For more information and free Windows PC software, visit www.ddx3216.com.
