Manage, Archive and Share Piano Performances with Yamaha Piano Diary App

ANAHEIM,  Calif.— Yamaha will demonstrate its new, free iPhone/iPad app, “Piano  Diary,” at Winter NAMM 2012. Yamaha developed the app as a tool  to both motivate and enhance daily piano practice and performance by  students, intermediate players and advanced hobbyists alike.

Compatible with any MIDI instrument, it’s designed to help users manage, archive and share piano performances.

Piano Diary runs on the iOS 5 platform and is currently available for download on the iTunes App Store. 

Piano  Diary enables users to record performances, monitor practice time,  upload performances to YouTube and carry their performances anywhere.  The App’s recording functionality lets users record daily performances  for later playback to their keyboard, either for listening/critiquing or  to perform as a duet with themselves. It also allows easy search of  performances stored in the App by date/time  or name. In addition, it stores all performances automatically on Piano  Diary servers in the ‘Cloud,’ ensuring that they can be accessed via  any device. A guest mode is available for those who do not wish to store  their recordings to the Piano Diary servers.

To help users monitor  practice time, Piano Diary keeps track of important statistics,  including duration of playing and the number of notes played. Players  can additionally compare their practice time to other users of Piano Diary. The App also enables users to add a slideshow of favorite photos  to their music by automatically uploading them as a movie on YouTube to  share with family and friends.

Piano Diary even enables  performances to “go portable.”Users can listen to and enjoy their  performances whenever and wherever they are using the Piano Diary  software synthesizer on their iPhone/iPad or via the Internet  from shared YouTube movies.
