    By Guest |

M-Audio is proud to announce the KeyRig 49™ USB keyboard controller. This 49-key keyboard builds on M-Audio's experience in designing highly functional controllers at affordable price points. It also includes M-Audio's award-winning Key Rig software (PC only) and Ableton Live Lite M-Audio Enhanced Edition software so users can start making music right away.

The KeyRig 49 controller turns a Mac or PC into a versatile keyboard workstation. Its 49-note, synth-action keyboard makes it easy to start composing and performing music with a computer. The package is an ideal addition to M-Audio's Session™, Apple's GarageBand or other music-creation programs, making it easy to play virtual synths, audition loops and compose songs.

The KeyRig 49 keyboard also includes professional features like pitch bend and mod wheels, an assignable volume slider, octave +/- buttons and sustain pedal input. The unit is powered via a single USB cable and works right out of the box with computers running Mac OS X or Windows XP—no driver installation needed.

KeyRig 49 also includes M-Audio's award-winning Key Rig software—a single virtual rack that covers all of the basic needs of today's keyboardist. Compatible with most PC environments, Key Rig delivers four great-sounding modules for stand-alone or plug-in use—SP-1 Stage Piano, MS-2 Polyphonic Synthesizer, MB-3 Tone Wheel Organ, and GM-4 General MIDI Module. The master section allows users to route, split, layer and mix these four powerful modules in whatever way best suits their performance and recording needs. A master effects section also allows for adding a common effect in addition to the individual effect section included with each instrument.

The included Ableton Live Lite 6 M-Audio Enhanced Edition software offers many of the new features found in the award-winning Live 6 application. Live software allows users to compose, record, remix, improvise and edit musical ideas in a seamless audio/MIDI environment, and can be used with Key Rig software.

The KeyRig 49 is currently expected to ship in early 2007 and carries an MSRP of $129.95 US.
