    By Guest |

Casio America, Inc. introduces new additions to its Celviano line of refined cabinet design digital pianos which provide an authentic piano experience. With the announcement of the AP-620, AP-420 and AP-220 models, Casio extends its longstanding history of leadership and innovation in the digital piano category by presenting advanced features, enhanced keyboard touch, authentic tone and traditional upright cabinet styling. The Celviano's elegant design houses rich tones and natural acoustic key touch made possible by years of painstaking refinement that has made the Celviano what it is today – the ultimate in digital piano technology. The AP-620, AP-420 and AP-220 models are suited for both beginner and advanced musicians, combining the elegance and performance of an authentic grand piano with a variety of exciting ensemble features. The new design concept provides music enthusiasts with a piano that looks as good as it sounds. The conservative and elegant design creates a look befitting a fine piano, offering families an investment in a quality home entertainment product. "The Celviano digital piano provides everything desired to play a simple piano piece or compose a complete musical masterpiece, thus encouraging the beginner and inspiring the professional," says Mike Martin, director of marketing, Electronic Musical Instruments Division. "The Celviano heirloom design and state-of-the art technology makes the digital piano a treasure for years to come." The Celviano models combine unprecedented sound quality and performance in a sleek, lightweight package. The new grand piano sound in the Celviano is comprised of four dynamic layers of stereo piano samples. When integrated with Casio's Linear Morphing System, the Celviano delivers a more realistic sound with seamless transitions and a superior dynamic range. The models also feature a new Tri-Sensor 88-note scaled hammer action keyboard providing users with the weight, feel and resistance of a grand piano. Equipped with 128-note polyphony, the Celviano models have the ability to handle the most demanding musical passages, to layer sounds and use the damper pedal without worry about dropping notes. In addition, an acoustic Resonance Effect simulates the sound of the dampers released off the strings by the sustain pedal, taking realism to a new level. The AP-620 comes equipped with 250 built-in tones while the AP-420 and AP-220 come equipped with 16 different tones and capable of layering and splitting sounds. Duet Mode allows for student and teacher to work in equal ranges of the keyboard simultaneously while the two-track recorder enables musicians to produce their recordings or use it as a practice tool. The AP-620, AP-420 and AP-220 feature a USB MIDI interface which allows users to easily use it with computer music applications, making the Celviano models perfect for music education, arranging and composition. The perfect addition to any family – Celviano cabinet digital pianos come equipped with a piano bench, music stand and pedals, offering a complete piano experience featuring the sounds of grand piano heard throughout a home. The Celviano models will be available this spring with an MSRP of $899.99 – $1,399.
