What started out a dream became a reality for 'Net guitarists. The Generation Ibanez Project - "Across the Miles" is a compilation CD featuring musicians from across the planet . Using the Internet as their sole means of communicating, their talents and love of Ibanez guitars were combined to create a passionate musical statement. Featuring fourteen songs and a running length over an hour, "Across the Miles" takes you on a musical journey of diverse styles.

The Generation Ibanez Project originated in the minds of a few guitarists and webmasters exchanging ideas via Internet e-mail. The concept was a musical collaboration of a professional CD to entice guitarists worldwide - while paying homage to the Ibanez guitars that inspires these musicians. The dedication and sincerity of the project was evident to Hoshino, USA who granted the Project permission to use the "Ibanez" name! The project board's search for new-talent - exclusively by means of the World Wide Web - brought forth an avalanche of international responses. The lines were drawn as all selections were to be professionally recorded using an Ibanez guitar, preferably the JEM or 7-string Universe models.

Traditional electric and 7-string guitars - with their extra bottom end oomph! - are featured throughout the CD, providing the listener with a diverse musical treat. The Generation Ibanez Project is proud to announce that portions of the proceeds will go to Steve Vai's - "Make a Noise Foundation". This nonprofit charitable organization "provides musical instruments, music education, and musical culture to young musicians who cannot afford to do these things for themselves".
