The Zildjian Company has developed two new cymbals in the Sound Effects Series, the 18" Oriental Crash of Doom and the all-new Azuka Timbale Cymbal. These cymbals, each with a distinct musical voice, add character and variety to any cymbal set-up.

The 18" Oriental Crash of Doom adds a smaller option to go along with the original 20" Crash of Doom. Dennis Chambers challenged Zildjian to recreate the 'ridiculously trashy sound' of a crash cymbal he'd found on a trip to China. The original Oriental Crash of Doom that resulted is a dark, distinctive voice that is appearing in more and more diverse set-ups.

Offered in an 18" size, the all-new Azuka Timbale Cymbal is a complete redesign of the first timbale cymbal developed for the Azuka range. This cymbal with a clear bell sound is the perfect Timbale cymbal for Latin Music. Zildjian worked with Alex Acuna, the father of the Azuka range, to refine the pure sound characteristics of this classic cymbal in the Azuka range. Zildjian's Azuka cymbals offer a range of models specially designed for percussionists of all Latin and World music.

    List Prices:

    • Oriental Crash of Doom: $292
    • Zuka Timbale Cymbal: $280
