  • Submersible Music Announces Terry Bozzio And Alan White DrummerPacks At Winter NAMM

    By Guest |

Submersible Music will be demonstrating its new TerryPack I and AlanPack I Drummer Packs in booth #6225A at the upcoming NAMM show (Anaheim, CA Jan.19-22nd 2006).

    TerryPack I

TerryPack I contains grooves, fills, variations and drumkit sounds by Terry Bozzio (Jeff Beck, Missing Persons, UK, Zappa, etc.). From the 80's progressive pop of Missing Persons to the technically "over the top" music of UK and Frank Zappa, Terry can take things from four-on-the-floor pop to smoking double-kick grooves. He careens into blinding double-stroke fills only to chill-out with a delicate, melodic percussion style perfect for film soundtracks. This DrummerPack is targeted at producers, composers, and musicians who want pop and rock with a delightful twist. Included are new drumkits for use with DrumCore's MIDI sound module/virtual instrument. Kits include sounds specific to Terry's two drumkits, giving you access to many one-of-a-kind drums and cymbals. The "Big Kit" includes an octave of chromatic toms, custom cymbals, and his trademark "stacked cymbals" used for accents and even ride patterns. Use them to play the included MIDI grooves, for programming your own beats, or for layering hits on top of the loops.

Like all DrummerPacks content comes pre-configured with metadata for use with the DrumCore search engine. This provides quick access to grooves, fills, variations and individual drum sounds. Search content based on feel (straight, shuffle, etc.), time signature and tempo. Users can even add their own search criteria (new styles or comments, for example). Content is arranged in "GrooveSets", which are a collection of related beats, variations and fills that serve as a construction kit for song creation. Most GrooveSets include hi-hat and ride patterns to compliment traditional verse-chorus structures. Also, since drummers play differently depending on tempo, GrooveSets are recorded at multiple bpms.

All audio is 48kHz/24-bit and recorded in professionally designed studios using state-of-the-art digital (ProTools HD3) and analog (Neumann, Neve, etc.). DrumCore works with all the major audio applications and supports dragging audio and MIDI directly to tracks in applications that support "drag-and-drop" such as Acid®, Audition®, Cubase®, Digital Performer®, Logic®, Nuendo®, Pro Tools® 7 and Sonar™. It also exports audio in standard audio formats such as WAV and AIFF (including options for sample rate and bit depth).

TerryPack I is priced at $79.99, US retail and requires DrumCore 1.5 (Mac® or PC). Demos of the content will be available in the DrummerPack area on the DrumCore website. Find out more about Terry at www.terrybozzio.com. The will be available from the DrumCore website and via most music software retailers in the February/March timeframe. NOTE: A free DrumCore1.5.1 upgrade is available to registered users at https://secure.drumcore.com/register/downloadupdate.aspx.

    TerryPack I DrumKits Include:

Terry's kits include many custom components since Terry has been very active in percussive design to support his melodic playing technique. His DW kits feature TB Signature Piccolo Toms (2"x8" single head drums sometimes used as "Foot Toms" w/pedal plus optional snare strainer) and Sabian TB Radia cymbals arranged in matched sets of 4 to 8 cymbals. His kits include splashes, chinas, bells, chimes, stacked cymbals and gongs.

    • The Little Kit - A double kick rock kit.
    • The Big Kit - A percussion array that spans sixteen feet, includes literally dozens of drums and cymbals, and requires no fewer than eleven pedals to operate.

    AlanPack I

This new DrummerPack features content by Alan White (Yes, John Lennon). It is targeted at producers, composers, and musicians who need great rock drums in odd time signatures. Alan is known for making even the oddest time signatures groove and this content showcases beats, fills and variations in 7/4, 7/8, 5/4 and 9/4. There's even a taste of 4/4. Included are new drumkits for use with DrumCore's MIDI sound module/virtual instrument. The kits include sounds specific to Alan's kit, giving you access to many one-of-a-kind drums and cymbals. Use them with the included MIDI grooves, for programming beats, or for layering hits on top of loops.
